Tim Harbold (b.1964)
Tim Harbold’s compositions and arrangements have performed by all-state and professional choirs, as well as school, church, and community choruses spanning the globe. Publishers include MorningStar, E.C. Schirmer, Santa Barbara Music Publishing, Hinshaw, and TH Choral Music. Some recent works have now been recorded by the world-renowned Ensemble Altera, under the direction of Christopher Lowrey. Harbold is an Emeritus Professor of Music and Choral Director at Wheaton College in Norton, MA, where he conducted the Wheaton Chorale and Chamber Singers for nearly 30 years in repertoire ranging from classical masterworks to world folk songs, spirituals, and jazz. Memorable highlights include concerts with Ensemble Altera, Skylark Vocal Ensemble, and Emmanuel Music; coaching with the King’s Singers, Roomful of Teeth, Rockapella, and Take 6; and visiting artist residencies exploring musical traditions around the globe. Working with a team of gospel specialists, Harbold now leads a multicultural gospel choir at the historic Old South Church in Boston.
