New Recording & New Publication:
​DOWN BY THE SALLEY GARDENS
 I'm excited to share Ensemble Altera's entrancing rendition of Down by the Salley Gardens.  They are fantastic at creating an atmosphere!  Watch for news soon on the release of the published arrangement, which will be available from Santa Barbara Music Publishing in March 2023.

New Recording & New Music: 
​SONG OF MY HEART
Ensemble Altera has also recorded a lush and transporting performance of my new choral song cycle, Song of My Heart.  

Years back, I became captivated by the story of Elizabeth Wright Shippee, a Wheaton student in the 1930s who wrote poems in the woodlands near her family's farm in Foster, RI.  Elizabeth's celebration of nature's cycles of life and death, Song of My Heart, becomes poignantly bittersweet in the context of her premature death by car crash at age 21, as she and friends drove home from a Boston Symphony concert. 

Inspired by Elizabeth's poetry, I chose four of her nature poems to set for choir, flute and piano. The work has become of song of my own heart, and  I invite you to enjoy Ensemble Altera's evocative rendition. 
As you can see from the recording session photos, these works can be performed by chamber choirs as well as larger groups.
